Maryland Black Ice Softball
Maryland Black Ice Softball was founded by Keith Calta in 2008 in Cockeysville, Maryland with 9 players. We have created an open learning and training environment where players can come learn and reach all levels of play. Our diverse coaching staff all have a proven track record for teaching fundamentals, years of valuable softball knowledge, and a commitment to growing the game. We also have previous college players on staff that have excelled on the field and in the classroom at their respective colleges.
The program has helped hundreds of players reach their high school and college goals as softball players and prepared them for their life challenges. The program has produced several players that have gone onto college to earn All Conference Honors at the Division 1, 2 and 3 college levels. MBI Camps LLC
Maryland Black Ice Founder Keith Calta also established MBI Camps, LLC in 2008. Coach Keith recognized the need to bring in proven college coaches and players to teach fundamentals to young players. Our Maryland Black Ice travel coaches have also benefited over the years, learning the latest drills from some of the best college coaches in the country.
The camp provides college skills instruction and recruiting opportunities for its campers. MBI Camps instructors are current and past Division 1, 2 and 3 college coaches and players. Our scheduled camps attract hundreds of players each year. MBI camp locations vary by age and location throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
