Concussion Awareness
A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that affects how the brain functions. It is typically caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body that causes the brain to move rapidly back and forth inside the skull.
Even what may seem like a minor impact — such as a “ding,” “getting your bell rung,” or a light bump to the head — can result in a serious injury. All potential concussions should be treated with caution, and appropriate medical evaluation should be sought immediately.
Please review the attached document to familiarize yourself with the signs and symptoms of a concussion and to understand the proper steps to take if a concussion is suspected.
